How to build your booking website
Kimshi Simple gives you two tools for building your public-facing site: Site Wizard to generate the overall site structure, branding, and layout, and Feature Editor to configure the specific functional pages — bookings, contact, and gallery. This guide walks through both.

This short video walks you through building your website with Site Wizard and Feature Editor.
Site Wizard vs Feature Editor — what each tool does
These are two separate tools that handle different parts of your website:
- Site Wizard — generates the overall brochure site. This includes your home page, about section, navigation structure, branding colours, and logo. Think of it as the shell of your site.
- Feature Editor — configures the individual feature pages that live inside your site. This is where you set up your booking page, define which sessions appear, configure your contact form, and manage your gallery if applicable.
You need both. Site Wizard builds the surrounding site — Feature Editor makes it functional. Running one does not affect the other.
Step 1 — Run Site Wizard
- From the admin dashboard, go to Site Wizard.
- Enter your business name and a short description of what you offer.
- Choose a colour scheme that matches your brand.
- Upload a logo if you have one (you can add or change this later).
- Set your service area or location if relevant.
- Configure your navigation links — choose which pages appear in the menu.
- Use the preview to check how your site looks at each step.
- Finish Site Wizard to deploy your brochure site.
You can re-run Site Wizard at any time to update your branding, layout, or navigation. Re-running it does not reset your Feature Editor configuration.
Step 2 — Configure your booking page in Feature Editor
- After Site Wizard, open Feature Editor (also accessible from the admin dashboard navigation).
- Select the Bookings feature page.
- Choose which sessions appear on your public booking page. Sessions you have created in the Sessions area will be available here.
- Set your booking rules:
- How far in advance a client must book
- Cancellation policy
- Whether capacity is shown to clients
- Preview the booking page to confirm the client experience looks correct.
- Save your configuration.
Step 3 — Configure your contact page (if included in your plan)
- In Feature Editor, open the Contact feature page.
- Set the fields shown on your contact form (name, email, message are standard).
- Confirm where enquiries are sent — this should be your business email address.
- Save and preview the contact page.
Step 4 — Configure other feature pages
Depending on your plan, Feature Editor may include a Gallery page and other feature pages. Configure any that are relevant to your business the same way — open the feature in Feature Editor, set the options, preview, and save.
Step 5 — Preview and confirm
- Use the preview function in Site Wizard or Feature Editor to review the full site.
- Check the booking page, contact page, and home page as a client would see them.
- When everything looks right, you are ready to go live.
In sandbox mode, your site is visible in preview but is not publicly indexed. It becomes fully live when you activate a plan in Subscriptions. A custom domain is optional and managed separately — your site works with the Kimshi Simple hosted URL without one.
Common questions
Can I skip Site Wizard and just configure the booking page?
You can open Feature Editor without running Site Wizard first, but your public site will lack the surrounding structure — home page, branding, navigation. It is worth running Site Wizard first even if you only spend a few minutes on it.
Does my site need a custom domain?
Honestly, the best thing for your business is to have your own dedicated domain. And it is not difficult to set up. Go to any domain registrar and purchase a domain. Because Kimshi Simple runs with an AWS backend, we recommend using AWS's Route 53. When you submit your domain's address, you will be given a set of DNS records to add at your domain registrar. This will connect your site and its features to your admin setup.
Can I change my site theme after running Site Wizard?
Yes. This is one of the benefits of Site Wizard — you can re-run it at any time to update your branding, colours, or navigation. Your Feature Editor settings are preserved. There is no need to hire a site developer.
Changes in Feature Editor — are they live immediately?
For live accounts, Feature Editor changes take effect as soon as you save. In sandbox, changes are visible in preview only.
Ready to build your site?
Sign in and go to Site Wizard from your admin dashboard. The whole process takes around two minutes for a basic setup, and you can refine it any time.
